There's no better source for technical knowledge in nonwovens than the TAPPI NETInc Conference.
NETInc is the industry's most comprehensive and technically rigorous forum for discussions around these areas:
- Medical Nonwovens: Hear Dr. Tony Atala, leading expert in regenerative medicine from Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center, discuss how he is using nonwovens scaffolds in his work creating lab-grown organs. Peter Mayberry of Mayberry & Associates, LLC will follow this by discussing the how the report, "Medical Devices and the Public Health: The FDA 510(k) Clearance Process at 35 Years," could, in fact, ultimately have a chilling impact on innovation to all sorts of nonwovens including feminine hygiene products (tampons and pads); single-use surgical drapes; single-use surgical gowns and other operating room apparel; bandages and other types of wound dressings. Finally, on Wednesday afternoon, a session on Medical Advances will discuss the creation and use of nanofibrous and nanocomposite nonwoven scaffolds for bone tissue engineering and a new approach for tendon/ligament regeneration.
- Building Science: The presentations in the Building Science I session on Tuesday will feature novel chemistry for Fiberglass and Mineral Wool insulation products and a proposed alternative material to current wallboard and sheathing products. Building Science II features an environmental update from Air Quality Sciences, Inc and a presentation from National Wire Fabric, Inc who specialize in forming fabrics, fiber cement wires, specialized coated belts, caul screens & press screens, and Custom made head bars.
- Market Trends & Analysis: The Market Trends session on Tuesday will kick off with a raw materials forecast from IHS that professionals in Insulation and other Building Materials will be especially interested in. Carlos Richer, disposable diaper industry consultant, will discuss disposable diaper trends in emerging markets & how they compare with developed markets.
- Emerging Technologies: Thursday morning, the Emerging Technologies session will focus on new innovations from diffrent areas of the nonwovens industry. A new generation of splittable fibers for technical applications, and meeting the rising quality demands of the automotive industry through online measuring systems.
- Other Feature Presentations Include: Advancements in Nanofiber production, modeling fluid absorption in fibrous media, process monitoring for nonwoven materials, improving productivity at dissolving pulp mills, and formaldehyde-free technology in filtration applications
TAPPI's peer-review process for speaker selection assures the highest-quality presentations with minimal commercialism.
By registering, you'll receive the conference proceedings on a CD-ROM that contains the extended abstracts and presentation slides allowing you to benefit from all the sessions while attending the ones most important to you. These event proceedings also become a valuable reference tool once you return to work.
In addition, by attending you can network with industry leaders and peers facing many of the same challenges.
